Animation Concept & Moodboard

“I want to ride the smelly horse, not the spinning horse.” This was my childhood sentiment whenever I craved horseback riding. Unlike the monotonous rotation of a merry-go-round, the dynamic and lively essence of a real, living animal offered a sense of freedom. To convey this distinction, I utilized the contrast between black and white, as well as the interplay of 2D and 3D elements. The spinning horse is depicted with rigid vector images and a dark silhouette, while the transition to the smelly horse unfolds into a dreamlike, imaginative scene, bringing forth vivid memories of my past.

Augmented Reality Interaction

Going beyond static images and videos, an interactive element was introduced to elevate viewer immersion in the artwork. Upon scanning the painting, the background blurs out, and the horse depicted in the painting comes to life, cantering towards the audience. The direction of the fog changes according to the movement of the horse's tail. This feature enables the audience to experience the vibrant energy of the piece and fosters a deeper connection with the artwork.
